Through PTO membership, fundraising and family volunteers, the PTO is able to purchase items to enhance our students' educational experience and sponsor many events including:

  • Student enrichment (i.e., assemblies, Accelerated Reader)
  • Staff appreciation activities (i.e., conference dinners)
  • Teacher/class materials (i.e., science kits)
  • Family events (i.e., Roller-skating Night, Extravaganza)

During the 2016-2017 school year we:

  • Support programs including Student Ambassadors, 3rd and 4th grade choir, Math Pentathlon, The Cooking Club and the student gardens
  • Hosted 2 authors in for Young Author's Day
  • Spent over $2,000 on Accelerated Reader materials and Math Facts
  • Provided a publishing center opportunity for every student who wanted to write, illustrate and publish their very own hard cover book
  • Contributed to the 4th grade transition to East Hills
  • Provided dinners to teachers and staff during parent teacher conferences (twice per year)
  • Awarded over $6000 in teacher grants for their wish lists (items include: 39 alternative seating options such as wobble chairs or yoga balls, 7 lap desks, 10 blue tooth keyboards, Spanish language book collection, many different book collections for the classrooms, 4 ukuleles for music, kinetic sand and a desk for the art room)
  • Purchased new paper cutters for staff
  • Provided 3-4 annual assemblies
  • Run Disability Awareness Day for the 4th graders.
  • Provided a new microwave to the teacher's lounge

Additionally, the PTO distributes $100 per teacher as discretionary dollars towards needs for their classrooms
