Building Better Families Through Action. Act as the liaison between BBFA and the PTO.
 
BHS FACILITIES ADVISORY COMMITTEE
(FIRM INTERVIEWS)

EVERYONE is welcome to attend general meetings to provide input/feedback regarding future use of facilities.  Stay tuned for district announcements for meeting dates and locations.

CLINIC
Coordinate volunteers for coverage in the clinic during the lunch hour. 
 
COMMUNITY SERVICE
Coordinates Make a Difference Day within our school and with the other Bloomfield Hills schools.  Also works to plan and promote community service projects in the school at other times of the year. 
 
DIRECTORY
Update directory and help distribute the school directory to classrooms when it’s delivered, usually in early October.
 
DISABILITY AWARENESS
Disability Awareness Day is an annual event for our 4th graders. You don’t have to have a 4th grader to help. 
 
EASTOVER EXTRAVAGANZA
Plan and execute the big event held at the end of the school year. Includes food and drinks, DJ, inflatables, crafts, and other games. 
 

EASTOVER PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
On April 2, 2014, Superintendent Rob Glass attended a special PTO meeting to listen to our school community.  During this meeting, a committee was formed to follow up on questions, concerns, and suggestions.  Several meetings have been held with Central Office, Eastover staff, and Eastover parents.  To continue this important work, and diversify our group, we invited more parents to join us during the October 7th Superintendent Dialogue.

Our purpose is to have ongoing dialogue and implement solutions to best meet the needs of our staff, students, and families.

We would like to thank our school community for providing input and staying encouraged as we communicate updates and give feedback.  For more information, please review our meeting minutes and/or contact a member of our Advisory Committee.

 

 

FUN RUN
This is our only fund raiser of the year and is scheduled for the first Friday in October.   Students run laps to earn funds for the school. The chair(s) coordinates publicity beforehand, the DJ and event on the day of the Fun Run and collect the funds at the conclusion of the event.
 

PARENTS ON SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT TEAM
The Eastover School Improvement Team (SIT) includes members from the school board, administration, teachers, and parents.  Their role is to meet monthly to review and analyze all quantitative and qualitative data from the school, including surveys and test scores.  All staff members are invited to attend all school improvement meetings.  There are set dates, times and locations for each monthly meeting.  The school improvement team accepts input and provides feedback to all building and district teams.

PTO MEMBERSHIP
Record payments received for PTO membership. This happens only at the beginning of the school year.
 
PTO BULLETIN BOARD
The PTO Bulletin Board is located outside the school office. Keep it updated and looking nice.
 
REWARDS PROGRAMS
Is responsible for researching and recommending fundraisers to be used throughout the school year, and assisting in the coordination and unification of fund raising between staff and PTO.
 
ROOM REPRESENTATIVES
The liaisons between the teacher and parent community; take teacher ideas, comments, concerns, etc., to and from the PTO Board meetings.
  
STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
Organize the week’s activities including breakfast, lunch, pies, and other special treats for the staff.
 
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
Event Planning to ensure that all PTO events are adequately staffed.  Responsible for acquiring and maintaining a list of parent volunteers.  Position primarily requires telephoning and/or emailing to recruit volunteers for specific events/activities and confirming their commitment just prior to the event. 
 
YEARBOOK
Responsible for overseeing the publication of the annual yearbook.  Duties include meeting with the publisher, meeting deadlines, coordinating all information and pictures with staff, teachers, and parent photographers.
